Kailali is district of far western development region and it is boundary with green forest also boundary with river.The headquarter of kailali is Dhangadhi. It is second biggest district of this region and it is biggest district of Terai region. In our district there is 2 municipality they are Dhangadhi and Tikapur. The area of kailali is 3235 sq. km. Kailali is vey beautiful place. It is surrounded by green scenery. In a district different types of people live such as Tharu ,Magar, Kathariya, Rana tharu, Brahman, Kshetri, Dalit,sunar,gurung andTarami magar etc.
The culture of Tharu's culture is different from other culture. Tharus have own culture. They are very rich in their culture. In our culture, Maghi is greatest festival , in Maghi we go to the river to wash and worship in the morning with the god . After worship we honor our father mother and love each other. we are celebrating with our family friends and other people. we are very happy in this day because we met each other.
In this way our district is gifted of god because in this area There is big river which name is Karnali river. The water of Karnali is neat and clean. We have to put out the electricity from the Karnali river and provide the electricity to Kailali's people.
